The Historical Archives of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation, situated in a former industrial complex in the city of Athens, are operating as a cultural center catering to the needs of their users by providing access to a modern archival repository. We aspire to serve as the active custodian of the memory of Piraeus Bank Group and to earn a central role in the cultural map of Athens.

The Historical Archives preserve important banking archival sources of various institutions that were incorporated in the Piraeus Bank Group, among them the Agricultural Bank of Greece, as well as, archives of major former state institutions and businesses with collections reaching 17.000 linear meters. These fonds are among the basic sources for the study of Greece's industrial, economic and rural history and the people that helped to shape and operate these sectors. Organized according to international archival standards part of our digitized collections (Operational Program «Information Society») are accessible at https://archives.piop.gr

Out of a plethora of initiatives already implemented by the Historical Archives we may point out creative workshops for adults, youths and senior citizens, lifelong learning programs, a banking history exhibit, theatrical performances and art exhibits linked to the archives, screening of films in our outdoor venue, scientifically documented presentations of audiovisual materials deposited in our collections, thematic tours conducted in our facilities, scientific meetings and exhibitions and archival educational programs tailored to minors.
