Cette université d'hiver sera l’occasion de développer la formation à la recherche, faire connaître les travaux en cours ou les projets, d’échanger avec des perspectives comparatives et faciliter la coopération dans des projets de recherche transnationale. Elle se fera principalement sous la forme de communications alternant avec groupes de travail, conférences et sortie de terrain. Les communicant·e·s exposeront leurs projets ou leurs résultats sur les territoires de montagne, de toutes aires géographiques. La thématique est volontairement large : elle portera sur les dynamiques contemporaines, dans une perspective de sciences humaines et sociales, ou interdisciplinaires (sciences de l’environnement, de la santé, etc.).
En avril 2018, le LabEx ITEM organise sa troisième Université Internationale d’Hiver dans le Tessin (Suisse), en partenariat avec le LabiSAlp (Laboratorio di Storia delle Alpi) de l’Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). Cette rencontre veut promouvoir les jeunes chercheur.e.s travaillant sur les territoires de montagne (toutes aires géographiques), dans un cadre convivial international.
Argumentaire
Cette université d'hiver sera l’occasion de développer la formation à la recherche, faire connaître les travaux en cours ou les projets, d’échanger avec des perspectives comparatives et faciliter la coopération dans des projets de recherche transnationale.
Elle se fera principalement sous la forme de communications alternant avec groupes de travail, conférences et sortie de terrain. Cette édition s’adresse aux jeunes chercheur.e.s: doctorant.e.s, post-doctorant.e.s, chercheur.e.s débutant.e.s ou en cours d’insertion et pré-docs (étudiant.e.s de niveau master 2).
Les communicant.e.s exposeront leurs projets ou leurs résultats sur les territoires de montagne, de toutes aires géographiques. La thématique est volontairement large : elle portera sur les dynamiques contemporaines, dans une perspective de sciences humaines et sociales, ou interdisciplinaires (sciences de l’environnement, de la santé, etc.). Les critères de sélection porteront sur le caractère novateur, la qualité et la pertinence en regard des enjeux sociétaux.
A cette fin, l’ISCAR (Comité Scientifique International de Recherche sur les Alpes) s’associe à cette démarche.
Programme - Organisation
L’événement comportera des sessions de communication, plénières ou parallèles, animées par des chercheur.e.s du LabEx et de son comité scientifique. Il proposera plusieurs ateliers tels que : « mieux communiquer sa thèse » ou « les relations chercheur.e.s/acteurs.trices dans le cadre d’une recherche partenariale ». Des moments dédiés aux échanges auront lieu sous la forme de dîner-débats et discussions thématiques. La dernière journée sera consacrée à une sortie de terrain.
L’université d’hiver aura lieu dans la commune de Monte Carasso, à proximité de Bellinzona, dans le canton suisse du Tessin. Un transport collectif assurera l’aller et le retour Grenoble-Monte Carasso (avec haltes possibles sur le parcours). L’hébergement sera pris en charge, ainsi que ce transport collectif. Compte tenu des particularités du programme et l’isolement du lieu d’hébergement, il est vivement souhaité une présence pendant toute la durée de l’université.
Conditions de participation
La proposition de communication sera comprise entre 2000 et 4000 signes maximum (espaces compris).
Elle sera accompagnée d’un CV. Elle devra être déposée sur la plateforme «sciencesconf » : http://unhiv2018-item.sciencesconf.org
La langue principale sera l’anglais.
La participation se fera après une double expertise des propositions de communication.
Calendrier
- Date limite des dépôts des propositions de communication : 3 décembre 2017
- Réponse : 15 janvier 2018
Les propositions de communication retenues seront publiées via le carnet Au Top ! et diffusées via HAL – LabEx ITEM. Après la tenue de l’université d’hiver, les meilleures communications seront sélectionnées pour une publication dans les Carnets du LabEx ITEM.

This winter school will offer the opportunity to develop training in research, make own ongoing or planned works known, exchange them with a comparative perspective and facilitate the cooperation within international research projects. The Winter School will be organised in the form of presentations, alternating with working groups, lectures and a field trip. Communicators will present their projects or findings on mountain territories, from all geographic areas. The topic is deliberately broad: it will deal with contemporary dynamics, from the perspective of humanities and social sciences, or with an interdisciplinary approach (environmental science, health science, etc.).
In April 2018, the LabEx ITEM will organise its 3rd International Winter School in the canton of Ticino (Switzerland) in cooperation with LabiSAlp (History of the Alps Study Centre) of the Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI). This meeting seeks to promote young researchers working on mountain territories in an international convivial ambiance.
Argument
This summer school will offer the opportunity to develop training in research, make own ongoing or planned works known, exchange them with a comparative perspective and facilitate the cooperation within international research projects. The Winter School will be organised in the form of presentations, alternating with working groups, lectures and a field trip.
This edition is addressed to young researchers: doctoral students, post-doctoral and junior researchers, but also researchers in integration, or MA students planning on doing a PhD.
To that end, ISCAR (International Scientific Committee on Research in the Alps) endorses this action.
Communicators will present their projects or findings on mountain territories, from all geographic areas. The topic is deliberately broad: it will deal with contemporary dynamics, from the perspective of humanities and social sciences, or with an interdisciplinary approach (environmental science, health science, etc.). The selection criteria will relate to the innovative character, the quality and the relevance to societal challenges.
The International Winter School – programme
The event will include plenary or parallel paper sessions, led by researchers from the LabEx and its scientific committee. Several workshops will be offered, of which: “better communicate your Phd-thesis”, or “researchers/actors relationships in the context of a partner-oriented research”. Specific times will be dedicated to interactions, in the form of dinner debates and thematic discussions. The last day will be devoted to a field trip.
The Winter School will take place in the village of Monte Carasso, in the vicinity of Bellinzona, in the Swiss canton of Ticino. Round trip collective transport will be provided from Grenoble to Monte Carasso (with potential stops on the way). The accommodation will be covered, as well as this collective transport. Given the interest of exchange and the remoteness of the accommodation, it is necessary to be present for the whole length of the Winter School.
Conditions for participation
- The paper proposal should consist of 2.500-4.000 characters. A CV should also be provided. Please send the submission forms via the “scienceconf” platform: https://unhiv2018-item.sciencesconf.org/
- The principal language will be English.
- The participation will be validated after a double expertise of the paper proposals.
Timeline
- All submissions must be submitted prior to: December 3rd, 2017.
- Results: January 15th, 2018.
