Este número especial comprende documentos seleccionados de la 2ª Conferencia internacional sobre “Transiciones en la agricultura y la sociedad rural”. Los desafíos globales de la historia rural". Para esta segunda conferencia, las transiciones en la agricultura y la sociedad rural han sido elegidas como el tema clave. En este eje, tratamos de dar continuidad al enfoque de una historia rural transnacional y transcontinental, así como de contribuir al desafío de crear un espacio global de debate sobre la historia rural. Nuestro objetivo es articular un espacio abierto que, al superar las fronteras disciplinarias, cronológicas y espaciales, logre albergar los nuevos desafíos y respuestas, definiéndose en los últimos tiempos desde el punto de vista de la historia rural.
