The University of Trento is organising a selection procedure based on qualifications and possible interview for one Research Fellowship Position (assegno di ricerca) at the Department of Economics and Management as follows:

Il Trentino è oggi la prima provincia italiana per quanto riguarda la percentuale di superficie agricola che ricade sotto la forma giuridica delle proprietà collettive. Tale situazione è il frutto della permanenza di istituzioni che hanno profonde radici storiche, e che nel lungo periodo si sono dimostrate capaci di assicurare un buon livello di sostenibilità ambientale e sociale.
Facendo anche riferimento al concetto di resilienza, la ricerca intende mettere a fuoco se e come le forme di proprietà collettiva sul territorio siano state in grado di adattarsi nel tempo al mutamento del contesto giuridico ed economico, continuando a garantire una gestione delle risorse adeguata ai bisogni delle comunità di riferimento. Ciò in particolare in relazione a cesure storiche e dinamiche evolutive che hanno avuto conseguenze significative sulla proprietà e la valorizzazione delle risorse naturali, come ad esempio la fine dell’Antico Regime, la costruzione dello Stato ottocentesco, la graduale affermazione di un’agricoltura orientata al mercato, i cambi di sovranità politica e la legge sul riordinamento degli usi civici del 1927.
A tal fine, sarà necessario:
1 - procedere a una ricognizione dello stato della ricerca sul tema, raccogliendo e analizzando la letteratura scientifica internazionale, nazionale e locale;
2 - condurre un’indagine sull’origine e l’evoluzione delle fonti normative (“Carte di regola” etc.) prodotte per la gestione delle proprietà collettive del territorio trentino;
3 - studiare più nel dettaglio un caso specifico di proprietà collettiva, cercando di individuare, sulla scorta della documentazione archivistica, le ragioni storiche della resilienza del modello sul lungo periodo.

Research object:
Today Trentino is the first Italian province in terms of the percentage of agricultural land that falls under the legal form of collective property. This situation is the result of the permanence of institutions that have deep historical roots, and which in the long term have proved capable of ensuring a good level of both environmental and social sustainability.
Referring also to the concept of resilience, the research intends to focus on whether and how forms of collective property on the territory have been able to adapt over time to the changing legal and economic context, continuing to guarantee a management of resources that responds to the needs of the communities of reference.
This is particularly the case in relation to historical turning points and evolutionary dynamics that have had significant consequences on the ownership and valorisation of natural resources, such as the end of the Ancient Regime, the construction of the 19th century State, the gradual affirmation of market-oriented agriculture, changes in political sovereignty and the 1927 Italian law on the reorganisation of civic uses.
To this end, it will be necessary to:
1 - undertake a survey of the state of research on the subject, collecting and analysing international, national and local scientific literature;
2 - conduct an investigation into the origin and evolution of the normative sources ("Carte di regola" etc.) produced for the management of collective property in the Trentino area
3 - study in more detail a specific case of collective property, trying to identify, on the basis of archival documentation, the historical reasons for the model's resilience over the long term.

Importo lordo assegno di ricercar / Gross amount for research fellowship: Euro 23.190,00 - esclusi gli oneri a carico dell’amministrazione/ the rewards do not include the administrative burden.
