Rural History 2027 Session Proposal:
International Grain Trades
Is anyone interested in joining in a session for Rural History 2027 on national and international trades in grain (or flour) before the opening of Europe to American corn after c.1875? I have a paper in preparation on the trade from Ireland into Britain in the late eighteenth and early years of the nineteenth century and would be interested in making this the cornerstone of a session if others can be found. Proposals on grain processing as part of the trade would also be welcome.
