Cattle histories: Regional and Global Perspectives
Lecture Series Autumn 2026

With this lecture series the ERC project CATTLEFRONTIERS (www.cattlefrontiers.eu) brings together historians and anthropologists working on the history of cattle from regional, (trans)imperial and global perspectives. The lectures will tease out human-animal interactions, commodification processes as well as regional and global trades with cattle and cattle commodities over the past centuries.

You can find the program and abstracts at CATTLEFRONTIERS — Lecture Series

All lectures will be streamed online, and select sessions will also be available in person at Ghent University (Belgium). Please register for each session at https://event.ugent.be/registration/CattleHistories.
